Gilys House – Your Home Away From Home!

Gilys House is our volunteer accommodation and the main base of Gily's Volunteers Tanzania, located in the Arusha district. The house also hosts our project offices, making it a central place where volunteers can receive support, guidance, and connect with our team throughout their stay.

Our accommodation is located in a peaceful and convenient area, allowing volunteers to easily access their projects and experience everyday Tanzanian life. The surrounding area offers easy access to local shops, restaurants, pharmacies, supermarkets, and public transport, while Arusha city centre is only a short distance away.

At Gilys House, our volunteers are supported by a dedicated team, including house staff responsible for cleanliness, meal preparation, and ensuring a comfortable living environment. We also provide security and a welcoming atmosphere where volunteers can relax, share experiences, and build friendships with people from different cultures.

We provide a comfortable and friendly home environment where volunteers can feel safe and welcomed throughout their stay. Our meals include a typical Tanzanian breakfast with tea, bread, eggs, fruits, and local specialties such as mandazis, as well as delicious local dishes for dinner. Vegetarian and special dietary needs can also be accommodated.

Beyond being a place to stay, Gilys House is a community space where cultural exchange, teamwork, and meaningful connections take place. We want every volunteer to feel part of our family while contributing positively to the communities we serve.
